happiness | the serenity group by maibritt olsen

Happiness is fresh flowers…

I so enjoy having fresh flowers my house. They make me happy and giggly and of course I love to capture them with my camera.
I was thrilled, when I saw that the Ranuculus was here. I love capturing all their layers. They are just so amazingly beautiful.

What brings you happiness?

spring flowers | serenity | may 2017 by maibritt olsen

Welcome to my first post for the Serenity blog circle (next up is Jennifer Carr Photography).

It had to be flowers - I love capturing flowers - the beauty, the softness, the joy they give me.

This month, I played with my new lens - the Lensbaby Velvet 56. I love this lens, it captures exactly how I see and feel about flowers.
It does have a steep learning curve though... and I am still learning. It is manual focus and I find it hard to grab focus - especially at the wide open apertures... wide open it is very "glowy" and soft. But I am not giving up!

What is your favorite thing to capture?

Just to try something new - I converted the image above to black and white.

Please head on over to Jennifer Carr of Jennifer Carr Photography for her take on Serenity.

Thank you for stopping by.

the beauty that surrounds me | april 2014 by maibritt

Finding the beauty that surrounds me... I just love flowers and close-up photography. It makes me appreciate the little things.

This month I have been focussing on that - an I am in love with details. I just love finding and seeing the beauty though my macro lens.

blue flowers and reflection...

 oil & water...

I am teaming up with some very talented women, who like I think there is beauty all around us. We just need to slow down and learn to see. Please head on ovee  to my amazing friend Jessica Zeamer - to see the beauty surrounding her.

:: beautiful ugly :: | monthly challenge by maibritt

The CM challenge this month was shooting ::beautiful ugly:: which I interpreted to be finding beauty in something, you would normally perceive as ugly.

It didn't take me long to think of dead flowers, as I had shot those for a challenge like this before. I love finding the beauty in a dead flower.

I have always wanted to try to work with textures and imediately knew, that I wanted to incorporate that into this challenge as well to enhance the dead flower.

This is my first try at working with textures, so please don't be too hard on me.

This was os much fun. I can't wait to start working on next month's challenge.

Now please follow the circle and go see what the talented Lori Zornes of Lori Zornes Photography is up to :o)
