spring flowers | serenity | may 2017 by maibritt olsen

Welcome to my first post for the Serenity blog circle (next up is Jennifer Carr Photography).

It had to be flowers - I love capturing flowers - the beauty, the softness, the joy they give me.

This month, I played with my new lens - the Lensbaby Velvet 56. I love this lens, it captures exactly how I see and feel about flowers.
It does have a steep learning curve though... and I am still learning. It is manual focus and I find it hard to grab focus - especially at the wide open apertures... wide open it is very "glowy" and soft. But I am not giving up!

What is your favorite thing to capture?

Just to try something new - I converted the image above to black and white.

Please head on over to Jennifer Carr of Jennifer Carr Photography for her take on Serenity.

Thank you for stopping by.

:: shooting through glass :: by maibritt

I just joined this fun blog circle with some amazing ladies from clickin' moms. Each month we get a new prompt for a new challenge. On the 2nd day of the month we all post our interpretations of the given theme on our individual blogs and then link to the next amazing photographer in the circle.

Make sure to follow the circle all the way through to get to see all the inspirering entries.

I am honored to be a part of this circle and hope that I can live up to it :o) I sure will try.

This month the challenge was :: shooting through glass :: I had the hardest time coming up with something as I am in a fog these days... I just can't seem to pick up the camera... but here goes... This image is by all means not technical perfect, out of focus and there is too much grain. (It was also one of the first times I used my new lens the "lensbaby composer Pro with the sweet 35 optic". I can already tell that we are going to start a love affair...)

But I took this challenge to try getting out of the box. I will use this challenge to try to break the rules and the chains I have put myself in. I will try to release my innner passion and artist.

Here's to trying new things!!!

Make sure to check out the wonderful Candace Chitwood next - and make sure to leave a little love on her blog, while you are there!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!
